"My Darling Clementine...."
This wonderful winter citrus fruit was first hybridized in about 1902. Since then it has been a staple citrus fruit and favorite of many children. Technically, it is a cross between a sweet orange and a mandarin, which is a small orange native to China. They are in season now. Our favorite way to serve these is in a sorbetto, consisting of freshly squeezed clementine juice, water and sugar. We always squeeze our own juice to preserve the quality and the nutrients. Try a pint today and you'll be singing "My Darling Clementine...."
